Saratoga 150: Celebrating The Saratoga Race Course, 1863-2013

May Through September of 2013 Will be a record 5 month period with residents and visitors from across the nation celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Saratoga Race Course.

Over Sixty SSPF is proud to be one of over 60 local non-profits scheduling more than 100 events ranging from races, horse shows, porch contests, and arts & cultural events.

SARATOGA PRESERVATION FOUNDATION PRESENTS
SARATOGA 150 - PORCH DECORATING CONTEST

Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation presents a Porch Contest in conjunction with the Saratoga 150 celebration, honoring 150 years of racing in Saratoga Springs. The Porch Contest will draw attention to homes in the Race Course Gateway area and North Broadway. Homes in the following areas are eligible to be judged and win prizes: Union Avenue, Nelson Avenue until Lake Avenue, Circular Street until Lake Avenue, East Avenue until Lake Avenue, Lake Avenue from East to Circular, and North Broadway. Prizes will be given in the follow categories: Most Elegant, Most Track Inspired, Most Historiclaly Accurate, and Wildcard.

The porch contest will take place between noon on Wednsday, July 31st and 5pm, Friday, August 2nd ensuring homes will look their very best for Saratoga's upcoming Floral Fete,the Whitney Stakes and for the overall 150th anniversary wekeend of the Race Course. One winner will be chosen in each category.

PRIZE: Each winner will receive the opportunity of naming a race during the 2013 Saratoga Race Course meet after Friday, August 2nd, and present the trophy at that race. Prizes are not transferable or available for substitute.
