Building History & Plaque Program

THE BUILDING HISTORY & PLAQUE PROGRAM WILL REOPEN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. PLEASE CONTINUE TO VISIT THIS PAGE FOR UPDATES.

Want to learn more about your historic building? The Foundation’s two-part program, Building History & Plaque Program, provides you with a detailed history of your building and a bronze plaque to commemorate your building and acknowledge your stewardship.

During the building history process, trained volunteers research the ownership history of your building. Once the work is complete, you will receive a written history based on deed transactions, city directories, census data, maps, and more. Click here to see an example of a history. The cost for the building history is $650 for non-members and $600 for members.

After receiving your completed building history, a cast bronze plaque may be purchased for an additional fee – $550 for non-members and $500 for members. Once the plaque wording and proof are approved, please allow 4-6 weeks for the plaque to be cast.

A completed house history by the Foundation’s researchers and payment are required prior to ordering your bronze cast 7” x 10” oval plaque.

Buildings will be researched in the order they are submitted. If you want a building history, please complete this submission and payment form. The Foundation has a cadre of newly trained volunteers to assist with research. The current expectation is a building history will take no more than four months to complete, but that will depend on volunteer availability and the volume of requests.

Please note that only buildings located within the City of Saratoga Springs are eligible for the program.
