The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation presents their Summer Stroll Series of historic walking tours beginning on Sunday, June 15 through Sunday, August 31 from 10:30AM-12PM.

Tickets are $15 for SSPF Members and $20 for non-members and should be purchased in advance! Space is limited and online sales close at 12:00AM the morning of the tour. If space is available, tickets may be purchased on the day of the tour from the stroll assistant at the tour location just before 10:30AM. 

Members should contact the Foundation directly at (518) 587-5030 to reserve a ticket with your stroll pass.

Tours are rain or shine.
Allow 90 minutes.
Requires walking and standing and covers varied terrain.

There are NO physical tickets for the strolls, guests should check-in at the noted meeting location prior to the tour beginning.

Horsin’ Around North Broadway

This stroll will highlight Saratoga Springs’ famed health, history, and horses. Saratoga Springs is home to the oldest sports venue in the United States, the Saratoga Race Course. The connection between horse racing and summer cottages is a long-standing tradition.
This tour meets in front of Witt Construction, 563 North Broadway.

Historic Congress Park

Join Preservation & Programs Coordinator, Sydney Hedge, on a tour through Historic Congress Park, a National Historic Landmark. This tour highlights the Canfield Casino, various sculptures, and monuments scattered throughout the park and what they signify within Saratoga.

Explore the area surrounding the Saratoga Race Course with Georgia Horner. This walking tour highlights the history of the Reading Rooms, National Museum of Racing & Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Training Track, and the Fasig-Tipton Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion.
This tour meets at the southeast corner of Nelson and Union avenues. This tour does not enter the Race Course.

Historic West Side

Join George DeMers as he highlights the diverse historic west side neighborhood where Saratoga Springs’ Irish and Italian immigrants and Black community lived. The tour will highlight the settlement of this neighborhood, its rebirth as an arts district, and the rehabilitations that took place in the early 2000s. In addition to highlighting the historic architecture of this area, George will discuss the history of its residents, restaurants, stores, and clubs as well as the impacts of Urban Renewal and revitalization efforts.
The tour meets at the entrance of Gideon Putnam Burying Ground, located on South Franklin Street.
