Building History & Plaque Program

DUE TO OVERWHELMING INTEREST IN THE HOUSE HISTORY & PLAQUE PROGRAM COUPLED WITH DELAYS OUTSIDE OF THE FOUNDATION’S CONTROL, WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW HOUSE HISTORY REQUESTS. PLEASE CONTINUE TO VISIT THIS PAGE FOR UPDATES ON WHEN THIS PROGRAM REOPENS.

Want to learn more about your historic building? The Foundation’s two-part program, Building History & Plaque Program, provides you with a detailed history of your building and a bronze plaque to commemorate your building and acknowledge your stewardship.

During the Building History process, trained volunteers will research the ownership history of your building. Once the work is complete, you will receive a written history based on deed transactions, city directories, census data, maps, and more. Click here to see an example of a history. The cost for the Building History will be included here when that part of the program reopens.

After you have reviewed the written history and your Building History is complete, you may choose to continue on to the Plaque Program. Based on the written history, you select the wording for your plaque, which will be cast in bronze. The cost of an historic plaque is $450 for members, $500 for non-members.

A completed house history by the Foundation’s researchers and payment are required prior to ordering your bronze cast 7” x 10” oval plaque – click here to pay. Please allow 12 weeks for the casting and delivery of your plaque.
